The Jeep Wrangler has gone uncontested for decades by the auto industry, letting the American icon rest on its laurels. However, Phoenix drivers of all kinds would like to know if the new Jeep Wrangler has a Jeep V8 engine. Allow us at Trucks Only to introduce you to the new V8 Jeep Wrangler concept, and then if you would like to learn more, check out our lifted truck inventory!
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon comes has a naturally aspirated Jeep V8 engine under the hood. The 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) V8 has a massive 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. It does 0-60 mph in less than five seconds. The v8 Jeep Wrangler engine is paired with an eight-speed transmission that efficiently transmits all that engine power to the wheels. In essence, the Rubicon 392 will be the first time a Wrangler has come with a V8 since 1981. The Ford Bronco is only slated to have a 3.2L turbo-four and a 3.7 twin-turbo V6, neither of which come close to matching the 392 V8 for power or torque.
The new Jeep Wrangler V8 engine is not the only improvement the Rubicon 392 is receiving. You also will be able to enjoy Dana 44 axles, a full-time two-speed transfer case, and electric front and rear axle lockers. Perhaps our favorite improvement is the standard two-inch MOPAR lift kit with aluminum, monotube FOX shocks, and 37-inch mud-terrain tires. To see all the details, like exact gear ratios, ground clearance, breakover, and departure angles, take a look at the official FCA press release.
