Unlike many other trucks we sell, the Jeep Gladiator is a very new model. “Young blood” some would call it. The Jeep Gladiator was introduced for the 2020 model year. This means there’s only one generation of it. But don’t let that fool you. The Jeep Gladiator lives up to its name. It’s a tough-as-nails truck that outperforms everything else in its class when off-road. Let us show you the Jeep Gladiator powertrain options and its additional packages.
The Jeep Gladiator comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 and a 4x4 drivetrain. The engine puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 7,650 lbs, one of the highest measurements in the segment. For comparison, the 2020 Tacoma can only pull up to 6,800 lbs. 2021 Jeep Gladiator models also have a diesel engine variant. It’s the same 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoDiesel V6 found in the Ram 1500 and the Jeep Wrangler. It produces 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Towing capacity for this engine tops out at 6,500 lbs. The Gladiator is available with a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Jeep Gladiator is available with five different packages:
Trailer Tow package: class IV receiver hitch, trailer hitch zoom, and heavy-duty engine cooling
Max Tow package: class IV receiver hitch, heavy-duty Dana 44 wide front and rear axles, and heavy-duty engine cooling
Cargo Management Group: lockable rear under-seat storage container and a 115V in-bed AC outlet
Auxiliary Switch Group: four programmable auxiliary switches
