Truck driving in the mud

What Do I Need in an Off-Road Emergency Kit?

Arizona has some gorgeous views. The beautiful vistas can feel like paintings when things are serene and quiet. Some of these destinations require a vehicle that is tough enough to head off-road.

There are a lot of different vehicles that can help take you on this journey. Some SUVs and trucks are made with this specific purpose in mind. There are also plenty of accessories you can buy to make your car capable of going off-road, but how often do you think about what else you need? We have some ideas for other things you need to help you stay safe when going off-road.

Must-Have Off-Road Accessories

One of the most important things to have in your off-road vehicle is a recovery kit. Being able to pull your vehicle out of a tough spot is impossible if you don’t have straps and pulleys to help you out. You should also carry a work light in case you get stuck at night to help you see what you are doing.

Another easy and simple tool to bring with is traction boards to help you get unstuck. In soft sand or terrain your vehicle might have trouble getting traction, so having something like a board to put under your wheel can give it the leverage it needs. Some old wood boards can also give a tire jack a solid foundation if you need to replace a tire.
