Fiat-Chrysler Auto Reveals New Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept with Powerful V8
The Jeep Wrangler has gone uncontested for decades by the auto industry, letting the American icon rest on its laurels. With the introduction of the 2021 Ford Bronco, however, Jeep has been spurred into action. And oh boy, is it some major action.
Let us introduce you to the new Jeep Wrangler concept with a V8.
New Wrangler Concept with Huge V8
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 has an absolutely bonkers naturally aspirated V8 under the hood. The 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) V8 puts out a massive 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. It does 0-60 mph in less than five seconds. The engine is paired with an eight-speed transmission that does an excellent job transmitting all that engine power to the wheels. Unsurprisingly, the drivetrain is 4×4. If it goes into production, the Rubicon 392 will be the first time a Wrangler has come with a V8 since 1981. The newly revealed 2021 Bronco is only slated to have a 3.2L turbo-four and a 3.7 twin-turbo V6, neither of which come close to matching the 392 V8 for power or torque.
More Standard Performance Features
A huge V8 isn’t the only improvement the Rubicon 392 is getting. It also features Dana 44 axles, a full-time two-speed transfer case, and electric front and rear axle lockers. Perhaps our favorite improvement is the standard two-inch MOPAR lift kit with aluminum, monotube FOX shocks and 37-inch mud-terrain tires.
